Gold Plating Unit For Edge Connectors,
A double-sided gold plating unit specifically designed to protect against
contamination when not in use. The unit eliminates the guesswork of gold plating
on edge connectors. The unit will plate an even deposition of gold on both sides
of the circuit board edge connector, even with both sides having a different
surface area. All that is required from the engineer is to calculate the area of
copper edge connector required for each side, dial in the area on the scale of
the front panel, connect each lead to the plating bar on the circuit board and
press the start button. The unit automatically calculates the relationship
between time, current, thickness of deposit and area to give a uniform deposit
of hard gold; the unit will even indicate when the solution is depleted of gold
and requires attention. The circuit board support is adjustable for large and
small printed circuit boards and the replaceable P.V.C. tank has a dust cover.
The area scale is graduated in inches to be compatible with the pitch and
thickness of standard edge connectors ie: 0.1 inch pitch. A metric version is
also available on request.
